      Is the GVC for you?

Why Should You Take The GVC?

The GVC qualification is the certificate you need if you want to get an Operational Authorisation from the CAA to fly drones up to 25 kg in built-up areas safely and legally. If you're interested in making money from drones, you should take the GVC because it is a widely recognised qualification throughout the industry to prove that you are a safe and competent drone pilot, who has undertaken professional training and proven their practical skills with a CAA approved Recognised Assessment Entity (RAE).

Having the GVC under your belt will enable you to appeal to the ever-increasing numbers of businesses looking to hire experienced & professional drone operators.

      What to expect

      How does the course work?

This is a completely unique, on-demand, video-based learning course which has been crafted to provide you with the same incredible learning journey we've become renowned for... But all from the comfort and safety of your own home!

Our Fast-Track GVC Drone course is taught by industry expert and UAVHUB CEO Matt Williams (Mr MPW) who will guide you through the learning process that will ultimately lead to you becoming a certified drone operator in the Specific Category!

How does the Online Examination Work?

When you have completed your E-Learning, you will be able to book in for your 'virtual closed book examination' using our dedicated online calendar-based booking system.

You will book a time slot to sit your examination online with an Invigilator with appointments available 24/7.

Before taking the examination, you will be required to show your examiner around your workspace using your webcam so they can ensure that you have no reading materials and notes to hand.

The Examination is multiple-choice and it will be invigilated by an Examiner throughout.

A Desktop or Laptop with the Chrome Browser will be required to take the examination. You will not be able to take the examination using a Tablet device such as an iPad.

      Essential Equipment Required for Examination

      • Desktop or Laptop
      • Chrome Browser
      • Webcam
      • Microphone
      • Internet Connection with a minimum of 2Mbs speed

      How do Flight Assessments Work?

When you have completed your Theory Exam, you simply need to book your Practical Examination (Operational Evaluation) at one of our venues across the UK. This usually takes around 2 hours to complete.

Students need to provide their own drone and Flight Assessments are weather-dependent.

      The Operations Manual

The final part of the GVC drone course is focused on the Operations Manual. You'll be sent a list of questions to complete detailing your planned operations, the answers to these questions are then used to create an operations manual bespoke and unique to you - The manual is usually delivered within 5 working days.

      FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions about the GVC Course...

Once I sign up, how long do I have to complete the training?!

There's no time limit to complete the theory learning/examination so you can take as long as you need. Once the theory examination has been passed you have 12 months to pass the practical flight assessment.

How many Mock Examinations are available?

When you join our course, you'll have access to an unlimited amount of Mock Examinations! Our Mock Examination System uses an ever-growing bank of questions and 'creates' a random Mock Examination for you each time you start a new Mock Exam. We've found that people taking the Mock Exam a number of times do VERY well in the Final Examination as they are fully prepared!

Are there any resit fees if I fail the Theory Examination?

No... We don't charge for a resit (although it's VERY unlikely you won't pass with flying colours on the first attempt... We have a 99.9% first-time pass rate!)

How many questions are there in the Theory Examination?

There are a total of 40, multiple-choice questions in the GVC Theory Examination and you have 60 minutes to complete the examination.

What is the Pass-Mark for the Theory Examination?

The pass mark is 80% - the highest in the industry... We pride ourselves on this and the fact that UAVHub students are known for their 'better than average' understanding and knowledge. Don't worry about this though; our teaching means that you'll be easily able to achieve this, just like the thousands of other successful candidates who have gone before you!

I've completed the 'on-demand video learning', how does the Online Examination work?

When you have completed your 'on-demand video learning', you will be able to book in for your online GVC Theory Examination using a calendar system that is built into your Training Portal.

Using this link, you will be able to book your online examination at a time to suit you; including weekends and holidays!

We usually need a minimum of 24 hours notice from you booking to sitting your exam but this gives you time to complete the on-demand, video-based revision module and is a great opportunity to complete the mock examinations which we've included in your training, to make sure the Theory Examination is a breeze!

When it comes to taking your examination, you will be required to show your examiner around your workspace using your webcam so they can ensure that you have no reading materials and notes to hand.

The Examination is multiple-choice and it will be invigilated by an Examiner throughout.

Please note; that a Desktop or Laptop computer with working webcam & microphone is required along with an up-to-date copy of the Chrome Browser installed. You will not be able to take the examination using a tablet device such as an iPad and you will need to be able to move the camera so that the invigilator can see your entire room.
