    2 days of classroom-based drone training in Wallingford, South Oxfordshire (with transport links to London, Reading & Birmingham) with additional online Night Flying learning to achieve your Permission for Commercial Operation (from the CAA) in the UK, followed by a practical flying exam.

    Taught by industry professionals with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the manned and unmanned aviation world.

    A Certified Instructor will guide you through the theoretical learning to gaining your Permission for Commercial Operations from the CAA.


    Our instructors have years of practical experience in the drone industry that you can draw from. You will sit a 50 question multiple-choice examination at the end of the second day which you will get 1 hour to complete.

    ICARUS Online Ground School & Resource Library

    As part of the course, you will get FULL access to our ICARUS Online Ground School e-Learning Videos (approx 8 hours of learning) as well as the ICARUS Resource Library which contains all documentation associated with the course and commercial drone operations.
    • You are not required to complete the ICARUS Online Ground School prior to attending the 2 Day Classroom learning. All of the course syllabus is delivered across the 2 days.

    Booked for a mutually convenient date
    • When you have successfully completed the Theory Course you can book your Flight Test with your examiner for a mutually convenient date and time. Simply call the office on 01491 526 700 to book
    • Practice the required manoeuvres and plan for a Mock Commercial Task.
      • Re-visit the ICARUS Resource Library for helpful videos and planning guides.
    • The practical examination takes up-to 2 hours.
    Practical Examinations take place in North Staffordshire or South Oxfordshire during weekdays (Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm) only.


    You must complete the Flight Test within 12 months of passing your theory test, otherwise, additional training may be required.

    You are required to submit an Operations Manual as part of your PfCO course. This sets out how you will operate your drone safely and contains the procedures you will use when flying your drone.


    If you are an ICARUS Pro student you will receive a Return For Information (RFI) form via email to complete and your Operations Manual will arrive via email within 5-10 working days from our trusted partners.

    If you are an ICARUS Basic Student you can find a Template in the ICARUS Resource Library for you to complete in your own time.


    Once you've received or completed your Operations Manual, you will be required to submit the Operations Manual to our submissions team for review.

    We guarantee that your Operations Manual will be signed off by our team after review and feedback.

    Once we have reviewed and signed off your Operations Manual you will be sent your NQE Recommendation Certificate.


    You will also be sent a video that will guide you through how to apply for the PfCO from the CAA
