    A2 CofC

    A2 Certificate of Competency

The A2 CofC (A2 Certificate of Competency) is a new drone course qualification that is being introduced from the 31st December 2020 (postponed from 1st July 2020) to allow you to fly certain aircraft within a new set of regulation categories, regardless if you want to fly commercially or for a hobby.

The A2 subcategory will allow you to ‘fly closer to people’ if you hold an A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) in the UK and are flying a C2 class aircraft or if your 'legacy' aircraft is less than 2 kg.

    GVC

General Visual Line of Sight Certificate

Learn to get your GVC (General Visual Line of Sight Certificate) so you can get your PfCO (Permission for Commercial Operations - before 31st December 2020) or your Operational Authorisation (after 31st December 2020 so you can fly your drones in the Specific Category).

The GVC drone course is the new course that is replacing the PfCO (Permission for Commercial Operation).

Please note: This course will allow you to get a PfCO from the CAA if you apply before 31st December 2020

    PfCO

    Permission for Commercial Operation

All of the training and certification required to get the Permission for Commercial Operation from the CAA (before 31st December 2020) is delivered through the General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC). You will not receive a separate certificate for this. When you renew your PfCO after 1st December 2020 the CAA will grant you an Operational Authorisation.

You will need to submit your Operations Manual along with the General Visual Line of Sight Certificate to the CAA to get the PfCO before 31st December 2020.
